Travis Dickerson All Music Discography
I built my first studio in 1976 in Petoskey, Michigan. I had been fooling around with tape decks before that in an effort to record my own music. I wanted to record my own album, and recording equipment had just become available to musicians at affordable prices.
Five studios later in 1990, I ended up here in Chatsworth. In the '80s the band that I had with my brothers needed a drummer. We were lucky to have X's DJ Bonebrake play with us; and around 1990, X got back together to do the follow-up of their last record and all of us ended up working together here. Over the years since, it has been my pleasure to record, produce and play with some amazing talented bands and individuals, including The Plimsouls and Peter Case, X, Top Jimmy, Eliza Gilkyson, Linda Ronstadt, The Negro Problem, Vince DiCola, Buckethead, L7, All 4 One, Chris Perez, Viggo Mortensen, Phil Alvin and The Blasters, in addition to many other great artists and musicians I've admired. I got to work with great guitarists like Tony Gilkyson, Steve Hunter, Davey Johnstone, Jerry Donahue, Buckethead, Matt Andes, Greg Leisz, and Norman Hamlet. Some great keyboard players like Brian Auger, Vince DiCola, and Money Mark. Some of the best players to ever pick up the bass, Jerry Schiff, Larry Taylor and Matt Bissonette, among many others. And also I have been very fortunate, because I love the sound of great drums played by great players, to have recorded some of the best: Vinnie Colaiuta, Greg Bissonette, Clem Burke, Doane Perry, Matt Abts, Tony Brock, Brian MacLeod, James Cruce, Don Heffington, DJ Bonebrake, Michael Botts, Brain and many many others.
For the last several years, I have concentrated on working with friends and collaborators on records we release ourselves. The TDRSmusic label is a group of individuals with connections and diversity that I hope to expand on over the coming years.
